Viacom’s Comedy Central is doing its 1st local show in the Middle East, a stand-up comedy production using the Comedy Central Presents.
This is the first ever stand up production for Comedy Central in the Middle East & North African region. They will showcase 30 comedians, featuring veteran comics and up coming comedians in Arabic language and English. These comics are from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Sudan, Jordan, and UAE.
The production will be hosted by popular Emirati comedian Ali Al Sayed, who has also done shows in America. Last year Dave Chappelle, was performing in Dubai with Donnell Rawlings and other American comedians. The show will be on Comedy Central HD, which is component of Viacom International Media Networks and will be featured in 10 30 minute shows each episodes with 3 comedians per show.
Performers include Hashem El Garhy, Yaser Al Bakr, Wissam Kamal, as well as Ali Al Sayed’s wife Mina. Most of their material will be created fresh for the show.
The show is part of Comedy Central’s vow to establish the regional stand-up and bring local Arabic content into Comedy Central Programming as they work closely with Middle Eastern comedy clubs.
