Jeff Lawrence: A prototypical native New Yorker, Jeff was born and raised in Queens, and is proud to let you know he got out. The Gay Jew, as he is affectionately known, was once a rock singer who has appeared on MTV, and with Bob Dylan on the Grammy Awards. He’s a native New Yorker, Brooklyn Nets season ticket holder, recovering pothead, and is against gay marriage. Well, at least until he figures out gay dating. He professes to know more about sports than any straight dude, and less about gay culture than any gay man. Whether he’s denouncing organized religion, debunking gay stereotypes, or dissing his landlord in Chinatown, he always leaves audiences wanting more. Jeff has appeared on the front pages of the Wall Street Journal, as well as the Tampa Bay Times. He also been talked about in the New York Daily News, Time Out New York, Next Magazine, and GALA Magazine. Jeff has been heard on the Dr. Fritz Radio Show and Mancow Radio, as well as college stations across the U.S. He has performed in the NY Underground Comedy Festival, The Stand Up 360 Festival, the NY Comedy Competition (for the Boston Comedy Festival). He hits the road often and is a regular at Catch a Rising Star and has performed internationally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, to the Greek Islands. After beginning his entertainment career as a rock singer, Jeff migrated to the stage playing Ernest Hemingway in the musical “Scott and Zelda” at the Wings Theater in NYC. As a musician and singer, Jeff has recorded and performed with members of The Cult and Buck Cherry, released records, charted on radio, and toured internationally. He has also appeared in commercial, film and television roles.
