MIAMI COMEDY CLUBS

The Comedy Scene in Miami

Known for its fun in the sun, fast-paced lifestyle and Latin American influence, Miami is a vibrant and exciting place. The comedy clubs in Miami are a melting pot of all that makes Miami a top tourist destination in the United States. While some of the
national chains, like the Miami Improv, may be shutting their doors, there are plenty of comedy clubs in Miami ready to help you let loose in the
Capital of Latin America!

Capitalizing on Miami’s unique culture, comedy clubs in Miami, like The Comedy Inn, have partnered up with local comedians and national talent to build on the demand for comedy in Miami. Recently, in response to the shuttering of multiple Miami comedy
clubs, Mike Levine (The Comedy Inn) has made some serious moves to rally back with some exciting variety shows featuring A-List, celebrity comics and local Miami comedians.

The Comedy Inn is actually a hotel in Miami that chose to expand to offer nightly comedy in Miami. However, with all of the dust still settling from the recent changes in comedy venues throughout Miami, today they represent the #1 Comedy Club in Miami according to USA Today. By working with comedians from around the country, their variety act (featuring Forrest Shaw, Erik Myers, John Vargas, David Stebbins) has carried the torch of comedy and good times forward in one of the busiest cities in the
world.

If you’re looking for a dedicated comedy club in Miami, head over to Just the Funny. The 100 seat theater provides a much more traditional performance layout and even has a VIP box. You’ll find most performances taking place at 9PM on Friday and Saturday night, lasting for approximately 90 minutes. One of the things that really makes this comedy club standout is that not only was it founded by a team of comedians, but Just The Funny used to be their group name; they performed at multiple venues around Florida before settling down and founding their own club.

Just the Funny (JTF) offers what they call an “interactive comedy routine” where the audience helps direct the show. It’s certainly a different approach to what would usually be a series of meticulously planned sets, but it makes for some fun laughs.

Whether you’re looking for standard or unique, you’ll find it on Miami’s comedy club circuit. While Improv Miami may have shuttered its doors, there are tons of great places to enjoy a night of fun after work or as part of a trip to the coast.
