Big Jay Oakerson
Jay Oakerson is an all-American comedian who enjoys shocking audiences with true-to-life tales of his bizarre life experiences. From driving strippers and escorts around his hometown to releasing two albums with Comedy Central Records (“An American Storyteller” and “What’s Your F@!?#ng Deal?!”), Jay Oakerson’s life journey provides a story to tell for just about any occasion. Relaying these stories, Jay Oakerson has lit up comedy stages across the country. His first album, “An American Storyteller”, was recorded live at Stand Up NY, delighting fans of comedy, New York locals and beyond.
Jay’s honest style of comedy was a last-resort career path after a series of dead-end jobs. Little did he know that all of the crazy assignments and earning opportunities from his time in Philly were really on-the-job training opportunities in disguise. The odd-jobs guy from Philly of yesterday is the notorious Comedy Central comedian of today; performing on stages and shows like Comedy Underground with Dave Attell. Jay Oakerson is living proof that a man with a dream in America can go just about anywhere; even if it is via the path less traveled.
Jay’s list of television appearances goes on for miles. Some of the highlights include IFC’s Z-Rock, BET’s Comic View, Comedy Central’s Premium Blend and Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn. Jay has also toured with and opened for Rob Zombie on his rock tour; proving that he can bring his act to just about any venue and absolutely kill it.
To say that Jay Oakerson’s brand of comedy is sexual in nature would be the understatement of the century. When preparing to perform, he was quoted as warning “It will be 45 minutes to an hour of raunchy humor.” In the same interview, he admitted to pandering in almost every way to his audience starting out. In order to get laughs, he once stripped down to his underwear on stage and posed like a bodybuilder; one of the few jobs Jay never had a chance to actually take on; primarily because his bodybuilding philosophy revolves around the premise of “why settle for a six pack when you could have the whole keg?”.
Jay’s base of operations is in New York City. He’s performed at NYC comedy clubs like The Comedy Cellar, Comic Strip Live, Caroline’s, Stand Up NY and The Stand NYC.
