Gibran Saleem — NYC Stand-Up Comedian

Gibran Saleem is a New York City-based stand-up comedian known for his sharp, intelligent humor and unique cultural perspective. Born in North Carolina and raised in Virginia in a Pakistani-American household, Gibran blends personal stories, cultural insights, and psychology into his dynamic stand-up performances.

He began performing stand-up while attending graduate school at New York University (NYU) for psychology. During that time, he was handpicked as an MVP nominee for the TBS Rooftop Comedy College Competition and was a two-time recipient of the Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) Diversity Scholarship.

Gibran is the only comedian ever selected as a finalist for both Stand-Up NBC and NBC’s Late Night Writers Workshop, chosen from over 1,000 submissions.

His television appearances include MTV, TV Land, Popcorn Flix, PBS, CUNY TV, Voice of America (VOA), Elite Daily, and Cosmopolitan. He made his stand-up TV debut on Gotham Comedy Live for AXS TV and was featured in the international documentary Asian Dreamers: Brown is Funny on NHK TV.

Gibran has performed at comedy festivals across the United States, winning first place at the Hoboken Comedy Festival. He also appears in the FX hit series Better Things, created by Pamela Adlon and Louis CK.

In New York City, Gibran performs regularly at top venues including New York Comedy Club, Gotham Comedy Club, and Greenwich Village Comedy Club, and tours colleges and festivals nationwide.
