Kevin Armando Escobar
Kevin Armando Escobar is a Colombian-American comedian from NYC who started stand-up comedy in 2018 on a dare and since then has been hooked. Growing up, Kevin’s parents forced him to learn Spanish which he greatly appreciates now that he can use his bilingual powers to do stand-up in both English and Spanish. It has also helped with meeting people from all around the world, especially now in the time of virtual comedy due to Covid19.
He has been featured at Broadway Comedy Club, St. Marks Comedy Club Nuevo Talento de 2019 (New talent of 2019), Skank fest 2019, the Conchords Comedy Festival 2020 and NY Underground Festival 2020
He has also recorded a comedy special in Spanish (Arepa Sarcástica) that will be released later in 2021
My joke of the day:
One of the main fights on abortion is when does life actually begin. And according to my Colombian mom, life does not begin “until you move out of my damn house, pendejo!” So according to her I’m only 8 years old..
Most common Quarantine activity:
Wake up, work from home, pet my 3 cats, pet my fiance, work out in the living room, do some internet comedy, binge eat while binge-watching Netflix before bedtime. Then wake up and do it all over again.
Favorite quarantine show/movies:
Wow, so many.. I’ll just say Netflix, HBO max, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Disney plus. I got it all!
Fav Ig Accounts:
@BromitasNyc is a Spanglish comedy show I started with a buddy. It has helped us meet people from all over the world especially Latin america.
@Carmencomedian Carmen Lynch is a big inspiration in doing comedy and in both English and Spanish
@Pundamoniums Tino Romero is also a big inspiration and someone how who has guided me while in this crazy world of stand-up comedy.
Fav quarantine meal/drink:
A protein shake in the morning, a protein shaken in the afternoon, and a protein shake for dinner. And no dishes!
The most questionable thing you’ve seen or heard recently:
That aliens are real, you can get covid more than once, and basically, everything we know is a lie.
First thing you do when isolation is over…
I actually had touring dates booked to go around the country a week before lockdown back in March 2020 and planning to start a new job when I got back. So hopefully do both those of those things whenever covid is done with.
