Named one of only 4 Finalists in CMT’s 2012 “Next Big Comic” nationwide search, Lance Weiss is quickly making a name for himself. Performing 300+ live shows a year, Weiss’ unique style of humor and sharp wit have made him one of the most requested acts performing on the New York City scene today. Lance began his career as a cast member of the improv troupe GPIG while attending Georgetown University. His first stand-up appearance was as a participant in the Funniest Man on Campus contest, putting him on a path that would change his life. Lance soon began performing around the Washington, DC comedy scene and soon after was bringing his act to DC’s top comedy venue, The DC Improv.

Lance then made the jump to NYC, where he was quickly embraced by the comedy scene performing nightly at the city’s top clubs, including Carolines On Broadway, Broadway Comedy Club, New York Comedy Club, Gotham Comedy Club, Eastville Comedy Club and Stand-Up NY, among other alternative venues.

When not honing his craft in NYC, Lance tours the clubs and colleges nation-wide with The Fifth Year Comedy Tour, Laugh Hard or Die Trying Tour, and The Almost Famous Tour. He has also performed as an opening act for VH1’s Best Week Ever Tour Live.

Lance has participated in numerous comedy festivals and contests over the years. In both 2010 & 2011, he was named a semi-finalist in the New York Comedy Festival’s NY’s Funniest Stand-up Competition, chosen from hundreds of comedians. He has also performed in the NY Comedy Contest, Boston Comedy Festival, Hoboken Comedy Festival, Jersey City Comedy Festival, Carolines March Comedy Madness, Carolines World Series of Stand-up, San Francisco Comedy Festival (SF Sketchfest), North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival, Maine Comedy Festival, Indiana Comedy Festival, Trial By Laughter in Indianapolis, Bridgetown Comedy Festival in Portland, Laughs Detroit Comedy Festival, Laughing Devil Festival in Queens, NY, Out of Bounds Comedy Festival in Austin, TX, Asheville Comedy Festival in NC, and the Laughing Skull Comedy Festival in Atlanta. He was recently named a top 10 nation-wide semi-finalist in the Magners Comedy Festival in Boston.

Comedy is not Lance’s only forte; on the small screen his credits include NBC’s “The Today Show,” MTV, Bravo, Comcast, Cosmo.com’s “Sexy vs. Skanky,” AOL.com, NY Times, NY Post, ComedyTime TV, .me’s “Comedy Cagematch” and the MSG Network. Lance is a familiar face for AT&T on many of their television commercials, and Kit Kat has tapped his vocal talents for their radio advertisements. Listeners may also recognize him from his work on Sirius/XM Radio, WITT 9 Indianapolis, 100.5 KI Hit Country, WMOM Radio, Comical Radio, Comedy 24/7, Pandora, Spotify, Amazon and Comedyslamradio.com. On the writing front, Lance currenty contributes to the style blog and creates web videos for Lucky Magazine on luckymag.com and he has written for file-a-beef.com

Earlier this year Lance performed his first one man show, “Wine And Questions With Weiss” at The Pit Theater in NYC. Currently, Lance co-produces the weekly standup show, Gandhi, is that you?, on the Lower East Side of NYC. Filling to standing room only every week, the show has grown to become one of the most popular alternative comedy shows in the country.
