Matt Friend
Matthew is 22 years old and graduated from New York University’s Gallatin School in May of 2020. Matthew was a guest on The Today Show this past July, where he did celebrity impressions and was surprised by comedian Sebastian Maniscalco. His impressions were featured on Jimmy Kimmel Live as well. Matthew won the 2019 Kenan Thompson Ultimate Comedy Experience at Carolines on Broadway, was a host on HQ Trivia’s Game HQX, and performs stand-up comedy throughout New York City. He can do over 250 impressions ranging from Rami Malek to Barack Obama to Timothée Chalamet. He was recently named by Thrillist as one of the best celebrity impressionists on TikTok, where his impressions have garnered him millions of views. While at home during quarantine, Friend created a mini late-night style talk show called Quarantime.
Matthew’s love of comedy and entertainment began when he was four years old after he discovered the Austin Powers DVD in his house. watched it so much that he began to mimic the characters’ gestures and words. “Do I make you randy?” echoed through his head every day. Matthew quickly found that he was able to make people laugh just by reproducing someone else’s persona. He spent countless hours in his room, scrolling through YouTube, digging up Johnny Carson, Don Rickles, Frank Sinatra, and Rich Little clips.
