Stephen Colbert stepped down from the Captain’s Chair at Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report in December of 2015. To say that his show’s finale was a star-studded event would be the understatement of the century. Take a quick look below!

Today, nearly 8 months later, we’ve been treated to a new side of Stephen. Or, more accurately, a new style; growing a fierce beard and taking time to engage with fellow comedians (like his appearance on Jerry Seinfeld’s Crackle series “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee”). The moment almost arrived where Stephen was ready to shave the Colbeard, but alas, it was too soon.

For the 12 of you out there watching CBS’ 60 Minutes last night, you got a first peak at Colbert in his new role as David Letterman’s successor to host The Late Show. You can find the three very different commercial spots below.

Love him or hate him, over the past 9 years, Stephen Colbert has managed to rock through more than a couple of amazing shows on Comedy Central. His move to CBS opens a new chapter in his life, and provides David Letterman’s outdated Late Show format a long overdue facelift that will hopefully appeal to millennials.
