James Mattern is a nationally touring stand-up comedian, media personality, and one of the most beloved emcees in New York City’s comedy scene. Known for his high-energy hosting and quick wit, James is a crowd favorite at major venues like New York Comedy Club, where he performs regularly.
James has worked behind the scenes on some of the biggest shows in television. He has served as a warm-up comic for hit series such as NBC’s “Bring the Funny,” Netflix’s “The Break with Michelle Wolf” and “Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj,” and ABC’s “The Chew” and “The View.”
In 2019, James released his debut comedy album “No Segues,” followed by “The Check Spot” in 2021. “The Check Spot” debuted at #1 on the iTunes Comedy Charts and was voted Album of the Year by The Interrobang. It was also adapted into a documentary film, available now on YouTube.
James Mattern’s TV appearances include Fox Sports 1’s “Garbage Time with Katie Nolan,” The WWE Network’s “The List,” Chris Gethard Presents, MSG Network’s “The Bracket,” People Talking Sports, and Pluto TV’s “Kevin Hart Presents Comedy In Color.”
Currently, he co-hosts “The SDR Show” on G.A.S. Digital.
