He can also be seen in the following 2008 releases: MGM’s “Soul Men” starring Samuel L. Jackson, Bernie Mac and Issac Hayes; Sony Pictures’ “Hancock” starring Will Smith and Charlize Theron and “Open Season 2” in which he lends his voice. Upcoming, Epps retreams with Ice Cube to star in “Janky Promoters,” a comedy about two shady concert promoters (Cube and Epps) who get into hot water when their chance to book a superstar rapper goes awry. “Janky” is due in theateres March 2009. Epps will also star oppositve Mos Def in the dark comedy, “Next Day Air,” which is set to release in May 2009. In 2007, Epps reprised his role as ‘LJ’ in Sony’s futuristic action franchise, “Resident Evil: Extinction,” which placed number one at thte box office for two consecutive weeks in September ‘07. Michael Somerville tried standup comedy on a dare while a student at the University of Notre Dame. He was soon emceeing Fighting Irish pep rallies and growing 70’s style sideburns to do extra work in “Rudy”. Upon graduation, he moved to New York City and took a job in advertising but, when his neck became irritated from shaving every day, retired to pursue comedy full time. His first job was dancing in a pink bear suit at a Bar Mitvah. He was hooked.

Since then Michael has carved a unique niche in entertainment. A comedian, TV host, writer, advice guru … there isn’t much he doesn’t do. There’s the regular comedy scene where I do all my day to day life stuff then there’s the recovery material that I do mainly for the recovery community. I very rarely talk about recovery in mainstream clubs..which is the way I am in life .. I LIVE recovery I don’t necessarily have to talk about it.” Mike took to the stage at 32 which is a little older than most. He spent a few years grinding it out before taking a break like many comics do.. In 2009 Mike decided that his love for comedy was too strong so he hit the stage full speed ahead and hasn’t slowed down.
