The In/Between Comedy Show is a standup showcase on the upper east side bringing you a mix of beginner comics and feature acts, to headliners seen on Netflix, The Tonight Show, and The Daily Show. Past comics include Mark Normand, Sean Donnelly, Leah Bonnema, Harrison Greenbaum, and Vince August. With special guests, drop-in comics, and a rotating line up of talent, we guarantee that you’ll love the show and walk away finding your new favorite comic.

Produced by Andrew Ian Bayroff and Kim Manfre, The In/Between is located at Mile 17 located at 1446 1st Avenue, New York, NY 10021 and has no cover, so that means you have no excuses. Stop by for some laughs, have a drink, eat, and take some photos with the comics. The menu at Mile 17 has something for any palette looking to enjoy a night out. We met up with the hilarious Cuban born Stand Up Comedian Laz Rivero at the New York Comedy Club in Gramercy. The energy in this NYC comedy club was buzzing. It was a sold out show and lots of great comedians performed that night

We decided to have a conversation with Laz right after his show to discuss some things about comedy and all things in between.

1. What other jobs did you do before starting stand up comedy?

1. What other jobs did you do before starting stand up comedy? 

Great question!
I had a tough job working as a Black Man and Muslim in post 9/11 America.
I had two jobs.
Very arduous journey.
The Pay was lousy.
Long hours with very little upward mobility.
I should be collecting Social Security ya know?
You think I have grounds for a claim?

2. How did you know you wanted to be a comedian? 

I didn’t. It was always said to me, “you should be a comedian” when I was younger, but I held the art form in such high regard I never thought I could do it. My sister told me my sense of humor was different and I should go on stage. I went on stage when I was 11 and got a standing ovation but never got on stage again until after my mother passed away. I was using comedy as a coping mechanism and found it cathartic. read more

Street basketball with various teams, freelance journalist, and an electronic store.

2. How did you know you wanted to be a comedian?

I realized I wasn’t going to make it to the NBA

Working at the Four Seasons Hotel hopefully.

We met up with comedian Mahesh Kotagi after his comedy show at the famous New York Comedy Club located at 241 East 24th Street in Kips Bay in Manhattan. Mahesh was born and raised in Texas. However, he doesn’t have a Texas accent. He is quickly becoming a rising new talent in the New York Comedy Club scene & Los Angeles.
