The mastermind behind the multi-media show “I Didn’t Mean To Be A Virgin In The 80’s,”All topics are fair game for Laura, from her own stories of coming of age to the bizarre and all too funny real life experiences she witnesses as a physical therapist.

Laura has appeared in clubs, theatre’s, casinos and shacks all over the United States and several countries. As a PhD in Physical Therapy, Laura studied the importance of laughter in coping with the stress of caregiving. She applies her experience as a medical professional and her talent as a comedian to teach other people to use laughter to stay grounded and energized while they help their patients recover. As a stand-up comedian she has performed at festivals in New York, Boston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Seattle. He’s been performing downtown and in the clubs for the last 10 years, including producing popular weekly shows like “The Industry Room” and currently “Sweet”, which he recently brought to the Sundance Film Festival for several nights. Since ’04 he’s been a regular commentator for VH-1 for both “Best Week Ever” and the “All Access” series. He’s also invaded your televisions with appearances on Comedy Central shows “Chappelle’s Show” and “Stella”, as well as on CBS’ “Love Monkey”, E!’s “#1 Single”, AMC’s “Date Night” and did stand up on the old “Mark Wahlberg Talk Show”. I majored in European history, and spent my summers and free time interning for politicians, museums, and non-profit development organizations.This all prepared me for: you guessed it, a job as a paralegal in a white shoe law firm.

He incorporates comedy into his dental office in order to relax the children. Kid’s jokes, and magic tricks are all part of his treatment. His humorous holiday greeting cards are so popular; other dentists and patients collect them. One even sold on eBay for $100!

Entertaining is in his blood. His father, Sid, was owner and MC of “Sid King’s Crazy Horse Bar” in Denver. In the 70s and 80s, it was one of the largest burlesque houses west of the Mississippi. It was so famous, Clint Eastwood shot his film “Every Which Way but Loose” there. read more
