With the name “Vladimir,” few people expect a Dominican from the Bronx to take the stage. In his own words, “My name is Vladimir, but I look more like Hector.” His experience is the fruit of an immigrant Dominican family living in the cultural mecca that is New York City. Raised in the Bronx and Washington Heights, Vladimir began polishing his wit while attending Wesleyan University.

Whether discussing his grandfather who fathered 43 kids, going to college without luggage, or calling a cab company run by latino spies, you will enjoy watching this comedian weave a hilarious fabric of truth and absurdity. In 1995, Burt Holland Together with a few friends formed a group to promote a party to bring in the New Year. In 1996, they named this promotions team Smooth and Groove Entertainment deriving from the format in which their house parties were set up. There were two levels of music, melllow (smooth) on the first floor and dance (groove) on the second floor.

By May 1997, Smooth and Groove Entertainment decided to go in a different direction and started promoting an after work comedy show with an after party which followed. The themes for each event changed depending upon the time of the year. read more

Bob Golub is the quintessential realized American dream. Poor kid from a family of ten, leaves a one-movie theater western Pennsylvania steel mill town and through sheer fortitude and drive becomes a headlining comedian and movie actor. Bob’s vast array of experience in the entertainment world has lead him on “The Tonight Show” to a role in Martin Scorsese’s 1990 blockbuster film “Goodfellas”. In his relentless pursuit of the role he landed, was quoted by Ed Masley of the Pittsburgh Press, describing what led him to his part. “I didn’t know any better” Golub says of his first interview with the casting director. “I went in there dressed as Jimmy the Gent with 2,000 cash and a gun.This resulted in being cast as a tough truck driver in the dinner scene. Golub spent six months doing character research, which led him, mistakenly, to John Gotti’s lair, which almost got him shot. Sophia Nurse is an actress/singer/comedian who has performed at various high end clubs in New York City! She has been seen on Anderson Coopers Talk Show, Rachel Ray and Sarah Moga Amgen! Sophia is also a registered Nurse, which is where her stage name, “Sophia Nurse” was inspired by. She is also known for her improvisation, Southern, Spanish and New York Accents, Voice-Over Work, & obviously Stand Up!

Charlie Gaeta is from New Bern, North Carolina. He has been living in New York City doing stand-up comedy since 1999. Charlie has been booked at the most prestigious comedy clubs in New York and has performed at colleges and universities all over the country. With a Bachelors degree in English Literature from Gettysburg College, Charlie routinely corrects other peoples grammar and rephrases their sentences to avoid fragments. A constant pain in the ass since he was six, Charlie wont shut up. He believes he is always correct. When he is wrong he will never admit it. He has never apologized to anyone in his entire life. Charlie never went to graduate school but this doesnt stop him from speaking extensively about subjects he is not that well versed. There is no argument Charlie will not join, no matter how trivial or subjective. Charlie is a poor sport. He routinely gets into fights with other grown adults on the basketball court or soccer field. Charlie is not particularly tall and this may give some insight into his loud-mouthed ways and his constant argumentative personality. Charlie is an arrogant, small minded, ego-maniac who thinks only of himself and would gladly cut off his left hand if he thought it would further his right. Charlie has also written a television pilot, which is hilarious as well. His jokes are witty and smart. His delivery is clean and honest. Regrettably, all of these virtues escape his personality. Charlie is the most wretched person you will ever meet, but hes one damn fine comedian. read more
