We met up with the hilarious Cuban born Stand Up Comedian Laz Rivero at the New York Comedy Club in Gramercy. The energy in this NYC comedy club was buzzing. It was a sold out show and lots of great comedians performed that night

We decided to have a conversation with Laz right after his show to discuss some things about comedy and all things in between.

1. What other jobs did you do before starting stand up comedy?

We met up with stand up comedian Kevin Dombrowski after his show at the New York Comedy Club. We discussed all things stand up comedy and his favorite comedy clubs in NYC.

What other jobs did you do before starting stand up comedy? I have literally done everything you can to make money. Except for maybe drugs and prostitution. Mainly bc no one would buy either from me. I think my wife and I counted one day into the 30s, with everything from waiting tables and bartending to installing carpet and delivering tires to lifeguarding and gym associate to landscaping and parking lot maintenance.. you know you’re typical avg white guy living off his parents ; ) read more

Recently we had a chance to interview one of our favorite comedians Liz Miele at the New York Comedy Club, an amazing stand-up comedian as she shared his journey with us. 1. What other jobs did you do before starting stand up comedy? I started stand-up @ 16 so not much. I worked as a receptionist at my parents animal hospital for years. Was a waitress, a temp at a million places and my last day job I babysat part-time. 2. How did you know you wanted to be a comedian? Nothing else made me nearly as happy and it was the only thing I work hard on and cared about. I thought I was lazy before stand-up but I just didn’t care about anything as much.

Comedy Smash! has been bringing some serious laughs Tuesday nights at 945pm, and it shouldn’t come as any surprise based on the resume of Sam Mushman and his production company Triple Threat Comedy.
