Louis C.K. has already visited many New York City coffee shops on the show Louie, so it only makes sense to visit the mecca itself, Portlandia.

Recently Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein wrapped up their production of season six of Portlandia. There ha been photos of stand up comedian Louis C.K. during the filming, and IFC has confirmed that stand up comedian Louis C.K. will be guest starring in Portlandia show this upcoming year:

The Magazine Time Out London recently added Doug Standhope top 10 favorite stand up comedians. Doug Standhope would definitely make a lot of comics top ten list. He’s considered to be the very best stand up comic performing today.

He is unapologetic, abrasive, politically polarizing and highly opinionated. His twitter profile says ‘Drunk, comedian, obsolete” and at any given time, at least one of those is wrong.

Doug Standhope top ten comedians include some heavy hitters Dave Attell, Neil Hamburger, Junior Stopka, and Sean Rouse. Stanhope calls Rouse a “master craftsman” and “madly original.” Attell comes in at number 7, but that doesn’t stop Stanhope from calling him the “greatest comedian ever.” Coming in at number 2 on the list, Doug praises Steve Rannazzisi, calling him a heroic survivor of 9/11. Maybe the news hasn’t reached London yet but someone might want to go back and get a new quote on that one. Although Stanhope’s list focuses mostly on comedians performing today, his number 1 is comedy legend Mitch Hedberg. read more

So When does the festival start?
The festival is starting Saturday, the kick off show is here at New York Comedy Club at 5pm and we’re gonna have 2 shows every night.  So 14 shows; one in Manhattan and one in Brooklyn and Queens every night. We started it for a couple reasons, same reason I started producing. Really just stage time and to immerse myself more within the comedy community. I wanted to be on a festival, so i thought, weIl I’ll just run my own festival. Thats always been my plan, you have to create your own stage and your own opportunity. read more

I found out my current boyfriend was cheating on me when he was charged with MURDER: A Brooklyn stand up comedian Ayanna Dookie discovered her boyfriend infidelity ways when he was arrested by the NYPD for killing other woman’s ex.

She found out her boyfriend had been cheating on her after searching online and read he’s been arrested for murder.

The 33 year old stand up comedian Ayanna Dookie acknowledge the bitter truth regarding her boyfriend to the New YOrk Post.

“He was the boyfriend I’d been carving for years,” Dookie said.

The brooklyn comic told the New York Post a lady spoke to her at a party about one year ago about his infidelity and the Ms. Dookie brushed the comment off. read more

Brady Olson just won the championship. He doesn’t even play any sports. He is the 15 year old mastermind from Iowa who came up with the ingenious idea of running for President of the United States under the classic alias Deez Nuts. You’ve probably heard by now that Deez Nuts just garnered 9% of the preliminary vote in North Carolina. Good enough for 3rd place. This is so amazing, I have to concede defeat to Mr. Olson. You win my dude. You are officially the champion of Deez Nuts jokes. I used to love making Deez Nuts jokes. I know they’re immature. I don’t care. They’re funny to me. I used to love asking people if they loved Wendy’s. And then when they would reply “Of Course I love Wendy’s, why do you ask?” Nothing brought me more joy than smiling and telling them “Well, you gonna love when deez nuts are in you’re mouth.” They would look at me like I’m the dumbest person in the world. I would be laughing hysterically. It was all good. But it’s over for me. I know when I’m beat. I’ll never be able to attain the level of Deez Nuts greatness that Brady Olson just dropped on the world. None of us will. read more

If your looking for 1 comedy show every month that is going to bring a loaded line up of talent, there is a new show at Stand Up NY comedy club that should be in the conversation. Comedy Smash! has been bringing some serious laughs Thursday nights at 930pm, and it shouldn’t come as any surprise based on the resume of Sam Mushman and his production company Triple Threat Comedy.

Right now the show is monthly, but according to Sam (the host of Comedy Smash) there are big plans for the new brand as the fall months are around the corner. “We pride ourselves on giving our audiences a consistent level of talent. In doing so, this should create brand recognition and word of mouth knowing your always going to be in for a treat if its a Comedy Smash show.” read more

Louie CK comes to the defense of NYC Mayor… supposedly

One of the most influential and household names in comedy today, may have come to the defense of current NYC mayor Bill de Blasio. This past Tuesday, Louie CK may have called into the Brian Lehrer Show on WNYC to express his disappointment on how the press has been portraying de Blasio. I say may, because the caller identified himself as “Louie from the village.” So it could be someone else, even though it sounds exactly like Louis CK and he’s essentially been seen stalking the mayor over the last month. ‘The Fat Jew’ Josh Ostrovsky gets roasted on social media for stealing comedians jokes

And so it is upon us, the day where social media actually does something good. Josh Ostrovsky, AKA “The Fat Jew” has been absolutely demoralized the past couple of days on social media for stealing jokes online and taking credit for them. Ostrovksy, a 30 year old Jewish man who grew up on the upper west side of Manhattan, has been one of the largest instagram and twitter personalities on the planet due to his funny pictures, memes and gifs. Now it is coming to fruition that his content is merely regurgitated form other funny comics, and he is now paying the price for it. Comedy Central has announced they dropped their deal with him after half the internet chastised him for stealing. Seamless soon followed Comedy Central by stating that they have no further plans to work with him. read more
