Sirius XM launched their new station, Comedy Greats on Thursday by paying tribute to the comedians who didn’t make the top 50 countdown cut. Inaugural hosts and legends, Jim Norton, Sherrod Small and Dan Soder debuted the show with more of a discussion on comedy — nixing a countdown all together and playing clips from some greats who just didn’t grab a top spot.

Nortons countdown takeover was just the first of many that will air on the 27/7 comedy station. This time the live audience chimed in, and even suggested clips for the show, showcasing comedians like John Mulaney, Brian Regan, Lisa Lampanelli, Pat Cooper and Ralphie May. read more

STATEN ISLAND SUMMER Trailer (2015)

The lack of movies featuring Staten Island, the least populous borough of New York City has been a cross born by all former and current residents of New York’s Richmond County. Today, however, Staten Island Summer brought the borough out of the background and gave the region a spotlight. The same spotlight that’s been notoriously missing since the opening scenes of the Godfather.

There’s more to living in Staten Island than the quiet neighborhoods outside of New York City might let on at first glance. Many locals consider the relaxed, recreational vibe something to rally around. The old joke of “Gym-Tan-Laundry” isn’t so much a description of a lifestyle, but more a stereotype that needs to be gently broken. read more

A regular of the New York comedy scene, Amy Schumer’s “Trainwreck” is a romantic comedy packed with tons of extra laugh lines. Amy leads what many would look at as the perfect life; a great apartment with a hot boyfriend and a killer job. What’s not to love?

“Trainwreck” takes pot-shots at the idea of post-feminism, where women are now as lusty as men, and great careers are available to skirts or pant-suits; the boy’s club is supposedly a thing of the past. Or is it? Amy embodies what yesterday’s feminists were longing for; a female that’s equal to, and sometimes even superior to men. But is today’s idealistic world of gender-equality really all it’s cracked up to be? read more

One of the most venerable  guardians of free speech in  the nation, The  Washington Post, took a  step to a surprising  direction after it published  an article by David  Leonard and Dr. Stacy  Patton, calling the  comedian Amy Schumer a racist.

The article tried to linking the comedy of Schumer to the politics of Donald Trump, accusing Schumer of the use of dehumanizing languages, which gives life to an ecosystem of racial violence and fear. Also, the article accused the comedian of suggesting that the Mexicans or other men of color are actually born as natural rapists. It also added that while churches are being burned, the black families bury their dead, death threats are sent to black women pastors in churches and KKK plans rallies in South Carolina, all that Schumer does is play with race, with the laughter coming from white people alone. read more

What happens when a billionaire pop star makes it onto the stand-up stage of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon? Well, Madonna has solved that one for us with a pathetic attempt at stand-up. The saddest part? The Tonight Show represented the pinnacle of a stand-up comic’s career; a lifetime of pinching pennies and trying to survive until the next gig.

Watch the video below and you’ll see that the act was clearly staged. Was it that she was trying to blow it so badly that it was funny? Or did she simply not prepare and thought she could just “Madonna It”? read more
