It was a Friday night at the New York Comedy Club, at 241 E 24th St New York, NY 10010b/t 3rd Ave & 2nd Ave in Kips Bay in Manhattan. It was the prime time show and the club was completely sold out with people from around the world.   That night we met up with Stand up Comedian Chris Scopo after his comedy show. We discuss being a comedian and doing stand up comedy.     Chris had the privilege of joining one of the most popular podcast’s in the country, Robert Kelly’s “You know What Dude” podcast. Where he learned valuable lessons in life and comedy. Since joining the podcast, Chris worked his way to become Producer of the show, a title he currently holds. Along with the YKWD podcast, he also is the co-host of Luis J. Gomez’s “Realass” podcast.

1. What other jobs did Chris Scopo do before starting stand up comedy?
-My first job right out of college was working in an office from 9-5; it was one of the miserable things I have experienced.

2. How did you know you wanted to be a comedian?
-I don’t think I ever knew I wanted to be a comic until I was actually doing it. I remember watching Dane Cook Vicious Circle when I was a kid, my brother and I used to quote that special all the time. I thought it was a cool job but never in my wildest dreams did I think I would do that for a living. read more

We met up with stand up comedian Kevin Dombrowski after his show at the New York Comedy Club. We discussed all things stand up comedy and his favorite comedy clubs in NYC.

What other jobs did you do before starting stand up comedy? I have literally done everything you can to make money. Except for maybe drugs and prostitution. Mainly bc no one would buy either from me. I think my wife and I counted one day into the 30s, with everything from waiting tables and bartending to installing carpet and delivering tires to lifeguarding and gym associate to landscaping and parking lot maintenance.. you know you’re typical avg white guy living off his parents ; ) read more

Recently we had a chance to interview one of our favorite comedians Liz Miele at the New York Comedy Club, an amazing stand-up comedian as she shared his journey with us. 1. What other jobs did you do before starting stand up comedy? I started stand-up @ 16 so not much. I worked as a receptionist at my parents animal hospital for years. Was a waitress, a temp at a million places and my last day job I babysat part-time. 2. How did you know you wanted to be a comedian? Nothing else made me nearly as happy and it was the only thing I work hard on and cared about. I thought I was lazy before stand-up but I just didn’t care about anything as much.

RUS: When I did LEGAL GUARDIAN for Comedy Records at New York Comedy Club a few years ago, it was the first time someone else besides me would be releasing something I did. SO it was an attempt to take all the material I had written since my son Rocco was born, dealing with all my anxieties towards being a father. and get it all in one place. I was very proud of it and how it all turned out….After I taped it though, my wife and I also decided to stick with the idea of having just one child. Our goal was to, “raise ONE Supreme Court Justice and be done with it.” But life had other ideas and my beautiful daughter Sofia arrived not too long after that.
