NYC Comedy Shows This Week

For anyone looking to enjoy every bit of what New York City has to offer, attending comedy shows is one activity you cannot afford to miss.

New York City is home to some of the world’s most talented comics, and the city boasts many comedy clubs showcasing first-class comedy every other week. You can catch different up and coming comedians, as well as some names you might have seen on TV, give you a great night out of unending entertainment. 

Here are some NYC Comedy Shows happening this weekend and the week ahead you should circle on your to-do list. The comedians headlining these shows would have you laughing non-stop.

NYC Comedy Shows This Weekend (Friday- Sunday)

Drag Me To Hell With Zach Zimmerman at Stand Up NY, 236 W 78th St, New York, NY 10024.

(Friday, January 24, 2020 – 8.00 PM)

Zach Zimmerman is the ringleader for this late-night comedy and drag extravaganza featuring Jay Jurden, Justin Randall, Ruby Fox, and more.

Zach Zimmerman is one of New York’s stand-up favorites. He is a  world-class comedian who performs mostly in New York City and would love to see you at his NYC Comedy Shows. 

Jay Jurden would also be on stage for the night, delivering some of his best works yet. Jay is not only a comedian but a writer and actor based in New York. Originally from Mississippi, Jay regularly performs around the city at comedy clubs like at StandUp NY, Broadway Comedy Club, West Side Comedy Club, and many more.

Justin Randall will be doing his thing as well. Justin is a New York City-based stand-up comic who has been featured in The New York Post and several times in Buzzfeed. Justin was a finalist in the Broadway Comedy Club LGBTQ stand-up competition in 2018, as well as Stand Up NYC Comedy Shows Mob competition in the same year. 

And not forgetting Ruby Fox, the popular New York City-based drag performer known as the Evel Knievel of Drag.

Gary Vider is one of only four comics to make it to the final ten in NBC’s hit show (America’s Got Talent). His deadpan style rocks the house frequently at Radio City Music Hall. 

Sheba Mason is the daughter of Jackie Mason, a comedy legend. Sheba Mason is regularly on Wendy Williams and Artie Lange Show. She is a popular comic at several NYC Comedy Shows clubs.

Adam Strauss won the overall Excellence Award at the New York Fringe Festival. In San Francisco, Adam also earned the Eddy Award for the best solo show and the Leffe Beer Craft Your Character storytelling competition.

Leah Bonnema is an amazing stand-up act from NYC. She was listed as one of the Ten Funniest Female comics by College Candy. Leah is a regular on Riot Cast Radio’s ‘The Hole’. Leah has also been featured on IFC’s Comedy Drop, AXS TV’s Gotham Comedy Live, Comedy Time TV, just to name a few. 

Matt Richards is known as one of the hosts of HQ Trivia and a cast member of MTV’s Joking Off. He claims to have used comedy to defend himself from gangsters and bullies. Matt has performed on several thousand shows around the United States. He is also a hypnotist, actor, and a magician.

Mike Britt is a  stand-up comedian, who started from the Uptown Comedy Club in Harlem. Since then, he has featured on several shows including BET’s Comic View, The Bad Boys of Comedy, VH1’s Best Week Ever, and Comedy Central Presents.

Wondering what to do tonight? The New York Comedy Club showcase is one of the most fun things to do on a weeknight. Whether you want to enjoy a happy hour after work with your friends or maybe you just love to laugh or have a casual date night, New York Comedy Club presents some of the most thrilling comics like Matt Richards, James Mattern, H. Foley, Chris Scopo.

Richard James Mattern is a trained comedian, actor, and writer that has performed on several shows all across the country. He was a standout in the 2017 CBS Diversity Showcase and selected as a NEW FACE Character in 2018 for the prestigious Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal. Richard James Mattern has appeared on several television programs including Fox Sports One’s “Garbage Time with Katie Nolan”. James is a Nationally Headlining Comic and Radio personality, who has fast become one of the most beloved Emcee’s in NYC to mention a few.

H. Foley is a comedian and actor based in New York City. Foley presents comedy in a unique, interesting style that involves the fusion of hilarious observations with personal stories from his life. He has made appearances on Netflix’s Iron Fist, Gotham, Gotham Comedy Live, TBS, Comedy Central, The Jim Gaffigan Show, FOX, Hulu and more. He also featured in films like Dish, Passaic, Set It Up, and Night Comes On. Foley performs most of the time in New York City.

Soon after Chris Scopo left college, he threw himself into the New York comedy scene. Since starting comedy, Chris has performed at some of the best clubs, not only in New York but across the country. Chris has proudly opened for top comic acts such as Robert Kelly, Andrew Schulz, Dan Soder, Joe List, and Luis J. Gomez.

Evan Weiss Show at Greenwich Village Comedy Club presents a lineup full of Top Headliners, which includes some of the best comedians from New York City and special guests coming from other parts of the country, some of which you might have seen on MTV, The Tonight Show, Comedy Central, The Daily Show, HBO and more.

The Comedy Show will feature rib-cracking comedy from Evan Weiss, Victoria Arnstein, and Juannel Riley.

Evan Weiss comes from Holtsville, and he is actually one of the hard-working producers of comedy shows on Long Island. Evan runs shows at Governors, McGuires and even branches out in the NYC club scene. He co-produces regularly with Kathy Arnold at The Brokerage in Bellmore. 

Another act that will be part of the show is Brooklyn born Victoria Toussie Arnstein. She has a background in theater arts as well as being a painter and athlete. She has been in the stand-up game since 2012 as a feature, emcee, and headliner. She usually enjoys performing for private venues as well as comedy clubs all over the country.

New York-based comedian Juannell Riley is well known for his uncanny ability finding to discuss the most sensitive topics and make them funny. He combines wit and sarcasm to great effect in tackling bold topic choices, which will get you thinking and laughing all at once.

Dark Horse Comedy is bought to you by the crew behind Tribeca Comedy Lounge, and features headliners that have appeared on Fallon, Letterman, Conan, and Comedy Central, and dark horses who are on the verge on making their mark on the NYC scene. Some of these talents include Daniel Simonsen, Adam Strauss, Sheba Mason, Ryan Long, and more.

Daniel Simonsen won ‘Best Newcomer’ at the Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Award. He made his UK TV debut on Russell Howard’s Good News and followed with his US television debut in November 2018 on the Late Night with Seth Meyers show.

Sheba Mason is the daughter of Jackie Mason, the famous comedy legend. Sheba has regularly been on The Wendy Williams Show and Artie Lange Show. She is a popular favorite at several comedy clubs around the country.

Ryan Long was nominated for the CBC Comedy digital series ‘That Guy’ and ‘Crown the Town with Ryan Long’ on Rogers TV. Ryan Long has been featured on MTV, Fuse, Netflix, and a lot more.

Along with these comedians, there will be 3 to 4 more comics who will be performing on the night. Some names might be familiar and others are greenhorns looking to stamp their name, but rest assured, they will all get you laughing out loud.

Michele Traina presents ‘Divorce Diaries,’ her one-woman comedy show that mixes stand up and improvisation in laughing at failed perfection.

Michele Train finds humor in talking about her story about being a single mom who moved back home with her parents after her failed marriage and unsuccessful relationships, which is why she named the show “Divorce Diaries.”

Michele Traina doesn’t mind talking about divorce and tries to turn an otherwise depressing situation into one to laugh about.

Broadway Comedy Club presents some of the best New York City acts like Adam Glyn, Ian Lara, Amy Foster, and some special guests from around the country.

Ian Lara started comedy just after college graduation. He performs every other night in some of the popular shows in New York City and has been on the Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.

Popular stand-up comedian Adam Glyn has performed over the country at clubs, colleges, and casinos and opened for Artie Lange, D.L. Hughley, Joel McHale, among others. His smart wit and humor rapidly enhanced him as a frequent guest on the Howard Stern Show on Sirius Satellite Radio as well as the Maxim Radio. Adam has featured on MTV Hits, Total Request Live, etc.

This show will also feature Amy Foster, a producer, and director recognized for works like Mystery Files, Beyond Reasonable Doubt, and  Twisted But True.

‘I Have Questions’ presented by Colin Paul and Gus Constantellius features comedians who have questioned either their religion, gender, or sexuality. On stage will be comedians like Ian Fidance.

Ian is a stand up comic, writer, and actor and can regularly be seen on “Grown & Sexy.” He has his own Sex and the City-themed podcast called “Sex Ian the City.” Ian Fidance performs regularly at the Comedy Cellar in the heart of New York’s Greenwich Village. 

Tyler Fisher will also be performing on the night. Tyler is based in NYC as a stand up comic, an actor, and a content creator. He has performed stand-up comedy on America’s Got Talent, and he has also been a guest star on NBC’s Chicago Med, TV Land’s Younger to list a few.

He is presently filming a role for the original series start-up on Amazon and Crackle.

Greenwich Village Comedy Club presents the best comedians from NYC with exceptional guests from across the country. These include:

Bob Dibuono will be on stage as well as doing what he knows best. Bob is a stand-up comedian and a chief impressionist. He has played Donald Trump several times and is rated as one of the top Donald Trump impersonators in the country by Fortune Magazine. Bob has also performed on Fox News, MTV, CNN, and more.

Howie Dewey is the host of one of America’s most famous conspiracy themed podcasts ‘Tin Foil Hat’. He brings his provocative worldview to the stage on a special night of stand-up NYC Comedy Shows. 

Also featuring will be a special guest, Skye Grayson Sirius. Skye is an actress, known for Baselines, The Iliza Shlesinger Sketch Show, and The Get Down.

Enjoy relentless “NO MINIMUM” comedic fun with Janeane Garofalo, Christian Finnegan, Corinne Fisher at EastVille Comedy Club.

Janeane was inspired to write comedy when she watched Watch David Letterman on TV. She started doing stand up comedy in 1985. Janeane has now become a popular figure, giving a voice to a generation. For her work in 1992 The Larry Sanders Show, Janeane received 2 Emmy nominations.

New York-based comedian, writer, and actor Christian Finnegan first earned national attention as an original cast member on VH1’s Best Week Ever series. He also appeared on Dave Chappelle’s Show as Chad, the one white roommate in the Mad Real World sketch. He has been a regular fixture on Comedy Central starring in his own half-hour special Premium Blend, and stand up special “Au Contraire.”

Union, New Jersey comedian and writer Corrine Fisher made her debut with her one-woman show Corinne Fisher: I Stalk You, which once ran at The Peoples Improv Theater and got featured in Time Out New York in 2010.
