Sandy Marks

Sandy Marks Comedian

Sandy Marks broke into the standup scene in the early ’90s, after two years spent mining Neil Simon monologues for humor left him desperate to pen his own jokes. (No offense, Neil.)

He’s got a knack for spinning facts and stats into fast-paced, stream-of-consciousness-style humor that doesn’t just inspire ebullient mirth but also hits home some rather startling truths about humanity. (Don’t believe me? Come watch him. No but really. Get off the couch.)

When asked, Marks describes himself as vapid, soulless, empty, and paranoid. But this serially self-deprecating Rolling Stone-approved “comedian” who, according to Time Out New York, may be “appearing at several clubs this week,” is a true charmer with enough energy to make any audience member sufficiently nauseous — or maybe that’s just his outfit (we’re not quite sure). read more

Nick Ruggia

Nick Ruggia Comedian

Nick Ruggia was born in New Jersey in 1986. Ronald Reagan was president, the New York Mets were champions, and everything was bad in the world. The turbulent times produced a mind rich with irony who constantly perceived and sought out the absurd. The son of a poet and a photographer, Nick was exposed to literature and visual art early in life. When his stepfather became a National Geographic photographer, Nick was exposed to exotic women and dangerous animals in exotic lands.

Nick received a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Maryland before he realized how much he disliked the profession. Shunning his schooling, Nick came back to the New York metro area to pursue comedy. He interned at The Onion in the fall of 2009 and started classes at The Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theater in early 2010 while performing standup at clubs all over New York. read more

Justin Murray

Justin Murray Comedian

After spending his first 23 years on earth in the mid-west, Justin Murray had become an ever-expanding balloon of self-righteous frustration. The best option seemed to be to move to a place where the environment matched his insides, so in 2003 Justin moved to a place where his foul mouth ranting would blend into the roar; New York City.

After 4 years in the city Justin decided to try stand-up comedy, since he had tried everything else at that point. He performed for the first time in a tiny theater in Queens to a small and very forgiving audience. Since then Justin has been a consistent presence in the New York comedy scene, appearing anywhere from dilapidated basements in Brooklyn to the main stage at Broadway Comedy Club, even finding time to make a brief appearance in the soon-to-be blockbuster independent film America The Mental. In 2009 Justin began co-producing the popular UG! Comedy Show. read more
